Director’s Note:
Directing this musical hasn't always been a fairytale, but it has certainly been magical!
This is the largest production we’ve put on stage and there isn't another group I’d rather lead through this endeavor! The cast and crew have shown up early to work scenes and music and worked on set, props, costumes, and promotions, which has been a lot to accomplish in 2 months.
I sometimes get accused of being a bit ambitious and the process of getting this show ready for opening has certainly been challenging but I could not have done any of it without my Assistant Director, Stephanie Boyer, and all of our designers, crew and volunteers. Thanks to anyone who made sure we stayed fed and hydrated or that I always had a red bull in my hand.
Our Into the Woods Company has experienced personal challenges such as the loss of a loved one, health issues, & busy work schedules. No matter how many times I’d ask if they needed a break or a night off, I always got the response “No, I want to be here.”
Their drive and support of each other amazes me.
I’d like to dedicate this show to Barbara, Steve, Lee Dell, and Maria, who have all left halfway through the woods. I know they are watching over me, that wild & mouthy girl who played the Bakers Wife, 20 years ago, and that they are delighted to see that I’m most definitely “paying for my raising" with this theatre program…and that there's nowhere else I’d rather be.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful show. I want you to know that if you ever feel a pull to join us in making magic, you are always welcome in our home. ❤️
